:Two days UOH-IoE Sponsored Workshop on WiSE HOME Technologies:

The School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS, University of Hyderabad (UoH) organized an IoE sponsored two-day workshop on WiSE-Home Technology on 6th and 7th of June 2024. WiSE-Home is a Wi-Fi sensing enabled smart home environment project sponsored by Institution of Eminence (IoE), University of Hyderabad. Wi-Fi has become synonym with wireless Internet connectivity and data communication. Recently, researchers have explored sensing applications using Wi-Fi signals which is known as Wi-Fi sensing. WiSE-Home project deals with understanding the Wi-Fi signal characteristics and how the Wi-Fi signal characteristics change in response to the changes in the Wi-Fi environment. The changes in the environment can be due to different human activities and/ or ambient conditions. This workshop was aimed to disseminate the knowledge gained through various theoretical and application studies during the execution of the project. The participants are exposed to the most recent and powerful technology with a proper mix of theory and practical hands-on experience.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. M. Ghanshyam Krishna, Director, IoE, University of Hyderabad. Prof. Atul Negi, Dean School of Computer and Information Sciences delivered the welcome address. Prof. Siba Udgata, the convener of the workshop delivered the introductory remarks and Prof. Samrat Sabat, Director, R&D Cell and the Co-Investigator of the project proposed vote of thanks. The workshop was attended by faculty members, researchers and students from states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, and Orissa representing different institutes, universities, industry and Defense Labs.
